Moving Your Business? Here Is What to Update Online — and in What Order
When a business in Lampasas, Burnet, Kerrville, or anywhere across Central Texas moves to a new address, the physical logistics get handled quickly. What usually does not get handled completely is the digital side. Your business address is the foundation of your local SEO. Every directory listing, every Google signal, every schema tag on your website is built around that address. When it changes without a systematic digital update, you create NAP inconsistencies that hurt your local search visibility for months.
Step 1: Update your Google Business Profile first. Log into your GBP manager, go to Edit Profile, and update the address. Do not create a new listing — update the existing one. Google may require re-verification by postcard, which takes 5–14 days.
Step 2: Update your website — every page. Contact page, footer (all pages), embedded maps, About page, and LocalBusiness schema markup in the website code. Inconsistencies between your website schema and GBP are one of the most common local SEO issues after a move.

Step 4: Update social media profiles — Facebook business page, Instagram bio, LinkedIn company page, and any other platforms where your address appears.
Step 5: Resubmit to Google Search Console. Submit your sitemap again and use URL Inspection to request re-indexing of pages with your updated address.
Step 6: Handle the small details — email signatures, Google Ads location assets, printed QR codes linking to your old map pin, PDFs on your website, and your Nextdoor business profile.
